Group Health Insurance, Group Health Plans, San Jose, CA

For companies that are already offering Group Health Insurance or Group Health Plans, there are ways to mitigate some of the costs for employers.  If you are considering now offering Group Health Plans, maybe because of the Employer Mandate part of the Affordable Care Act, there are definitely ways to ease the burden of not only offering Group Health Insurance, but also following all of the mandates and compliance issues.  First off, you really need to fitand an Independent Broker that knows Group Health Insurance.  Of course I would like that to be us, but either way, find a specialist, you’ll be glad you did.

Finding a specialist that only does Group Health Insurance and Group Health Plans

Its not as easy as you think.  There are agencies that claim they specialize in Health Insurance.  I would first ask them if they are certified with the state for Health Reform.  Secondly, I would check out their website and see if they really specialize.  Group Health Insurance is so complicated now, with all of the compliance issues and mandates that employers of all sizes have to meet, you cannot possibly be an expert at Health Insurance and other lines of insurance at the same time.  There is simply not enough hours in the day to do it all.

Group Health Specialist huh, prove it

There’s just not enough hours in the day to be proficient at it all.  I learned a long time ago, that with Group Health Insurance or Health Insurance in general, there is a tremendous amount of time to stay current.  Things are changing constantly.  Just last week the governor signed another piece of legislation that affects businesses and their Group Health Plans.  The nuances and details of that law are complicated and require a firm foundation of understanding of the Affordable Care Act and Group Health Plans.  If your broker does not have you compliant, get rid of them.  A good test is to ask yourself if your current broker has provided you with compliance paperwork for your company, specific to the Group Health Plan that you offer.  If not, your company is at risk.  Period.  Call us, we can help you.
