Dental Insurance
At Brauer Insurance Services, we offer group dental plans and individual dental plans. We always shop around for the best rates and the best coverage. Below are some of the main insurance carriers that we work with:

There are two types of dental insurance: PPO & HMO.
PPO (Preferred Provider Organization)
With a PPO, you have the flexibility of choosing your own dentist. Although there isn't a waiting period for preventative and diagnostic services, there is a six month waiting period for fillings and extractions, and a 12 month waiting period for major dental work. Preventative care is paid 100%, basic care at 80%, and major dental at 50%.
HMO (Health Maintenance Organization)
HMO
dental plans are pre-paid plans. With this type of plan, you choose
your dentist from a specific list provided by the HMO. There's usually a
small co-payment associated with the dental work, but generally no
waiting period with these dental plans. The disadvantage to HMO dental is that you have to
choose one of the contracted dentists to obtain services.

Helpful Tips:
1)
When looking for a dentist, ask if the dentist is
CONTRACTED or "in-network" with your insurance carrier. For example: If you have Delta
Dental, ask if the dentist is contracted with Delta Dental Premier, PPO,
or HMO. This will help avoid large bills. If you're not sure how to do it, just ask us here at Brauer Insurance Services! We will be more than happy to call dentists for you to see if they are in-network.
2) Use a dentist who was recommended to you. You can also search on Yelp! to find other reviews on possible candidates and get reviews of qualified doctors.
3) Make sure to satisfy the waiting periods on your dental insurance before trying to use those services. For example: If you have a cavity, make sure you have cleared the waiting period (Individual dental is usually 6 months) BEFORE getting those services rendered! Otherwise you may be stuck paying the entire bill. If you're not sure what your waiting periods are (or if you have any) just ask us!
